International Finance Controller

Marc Daniels is working with a highly successful international business to recruit an EMEA Financial Controller to join its finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, compliance, and supporting key business decisions across multiple territories.\n\nThe successful candidate will take ownership of core controllership activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient finance processes. You will also play a key role in audit support, statutory compliance, cash flow oversight, and business partnering with stakeholders across finance and wider functions.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTake ownership of the full financial control process across international entities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities.\nPrepare and review management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure reporting integrity.\nOversee the accuracy of general ledger postings and ensure all transactions are recorded in line with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.\nLead the preparation of statutory accounts and support the external audit process from planning through to completion.\nEnsure compliance with local reporting, tax, and regulatory requirements across the relevant legal entities.\nWork closely with internal stakeholders including treasury, tax, legal, HR, and payroll to ensure the correct treatment and reporting of financial information.\nReview and support cash flow forecasting, ensuring funding requirements are identified and communicated in a timely manner.\nMaintain and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting procedures across the business.\nAct as a key point of contact for external advisors, auditors, and shared service teams.\nSupport the preparation of transfer pricing, intercompany reconciliations, and related group reporting requirements.\nContribute to technical accounting discussions and prepare accounting papers where required.\nHelp identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across finance.\nSupport budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.\nAssist with ad hoc finance projects and wider business initiatives as required.Requirements:\n\nQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).\nStrong technical accounting background, ideally gained in audit or financial control.\nExperience working in a multi-entity or international business environment.\nStrong understanding of month-end close, reporting, controls, and statutory compliance.\nExcellent Excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of financial data.\nConfident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.\nAble to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise effectively.\nProactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience managing or mentoring others would be beneficial.By applying you will be registered as a candidate with Marc Daniels Specialist Recruitment Limited.
