Senior Social Worker - Children’s MASH Team\nSouthwark Council\n£39.04 per hour\nFull-Time Locum Position\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nSW Locums are recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the highly regarded Children’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at Southwark Council. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MASH practitioner looking to join a progressive, high-performing service at the forefront of safeguarding and early intervention.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will join a team of 8 experienced Social Workers and contribute your expertise to a well-established and successful MASH service that is currently transitioning to an innovative Unitary One Front Door model.\n\nAs part of this dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing an introductory service to all families entering the Southwark system. Your key duties will include:\n\n * \n\n Screening contacts and referrals.\n\n * \n\n Making informed threshold decisions.\n\n * \n\n Undertaking robust risk assessments.\n\n * \n\n Developing and implementing safety plans.\n\n * \n\n Identifying and coordinating appropriate support services.\n\n * \n\n Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.\n\nThis role requires a confident practitioner who can make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a child-centred approach.\n\nRequirements\n\n * \n\n Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.\n\n * \n\n Minimum of 2 years' recent MASH experience.\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and threshold decision-making.\n\n * \n\n Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.\n\n * \n\n Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.\n\nWhy Southwark Council?\n\nSouthwark Council is widely recognised for its commitment to delivering outstanding services to children and families.
